What I learned this year was how to make it mine. Determined to let this make a difference in my life, I learned how to listen to my body with love and respect; how to appreciate the structure of '108' while giving myself the time and space to move. (Thanks K)
The little things count
I nourished myself with NuPlus and hydrated with Fortune Delight. I used Sunbreeze on the really hot 'aches' during the practice and epsom salts in my tub soaks. I went to bed earlier than usual and (surprise) slept without clenching my teeth. I woke up without pain and most days I got up feeling unburdened...free in fact. On the days that I did not, my morning meditations were all about praying for awareness and loving guidance. Some days were simply about taking a minute to celebrate that I got to the mat (this suggestion from my loving yoga teacher, Laney). Change your words, change your life (Thanks Z)
When I acquired 'Happy the Snail' last fall, I told my students she reminds me that one can still smile while moving slowly. My growth, my ability to change used to seem to slow to me. Now, looking at Happy the Snail, I am reminded to feel the ever present smile in my own heart and time becomes irrelevant. 3 sets of 4 = 12, 9 sets of 12 = 108... It is the little changes that actually give you a sense of that fresh start :D Gratitude for the delightful artist, Lucas Antoniak.
